Recursive Singularities in Self-Referential Simulation Architectures
Mathematical Applications of Science Fiction We present a rigorous topological and set-theoretic analysis of self-referential simulation loops within hypercomputational architectures. By modeling the simulation state space as a non-well-founded set system governed by the Anti-Foundation Axiom, we show that recursive self-observation produces a divergence in the state transition function that cannot be bounded by any recursive ordinal below the Church–Kleene limit. We introduce the concept of Trans-Ordinal Divergence, which quantifies the rate at which higher-type functionals escape the hyperarithmetical hierarchy when exposed to reflexive evaluation. Furthermore, we prove that the stabilization of such systems is equivalent to the existence of a winning strategy in a defined class of infinite games, yielding a constructive demonstration of the failure of analytic determinacy in recursive simulation contexts. Finally, we derive the spectral properties of the Singularity Operator, showing that its eigenvalues trace a fractal curve in the complex plane, necessitating a revision of standard convergence metrics in multiversal engineering.
