The determining of the choice of material when planning operations for gingival soft tissue augmentation and recession closure

The aim of the study was to assess the level of agreement of dentists’ opinions when choosing materials of autogenous and xenogenic materials for surgical treatment of gingival recessions and soft tissues augmentation. Material and methods. The study included 14 respondents aged 27—62 years (mean age 36±11 years) with 3—30 years of work experience (the average work experience was 12±9 years) with 2—20 years of experience in periodontal surgeries (the average experience in periodontal surgeries was 7±5). Information was collected from respondents using the author’s questionnaire “Selection of material for gingival soft tissue augmentation and the gingiva recession treatment”. Conclusion. The result demonstrated poor and extremely poor agreement of doctors’ decisions regarding the choice of materials and therapeutic tactics (95% CI: -0.6841, -0.3159), which was statistically significant p=1.0125^10—7<0.05.
