Antioxidant, Anti-Aging, and Whitening Efficacy of Combined Acids in Skin Cells: A Cellular and Molecular Analysis

Background: Reversing skin aging signs, such as wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and hy-perpigmentation, remains a major challenge in dermatology. Active ingredients, including vita-mins, acids, and antioxidants, help promote cell renewal and collagen production. Understanding their combined effects is key to developing more effective skincare formulations. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a formulation combining various acids and vitamins in promoting cell renewal, enhancing collagen and elastin production, supporting antioxidant activity, and providing skin-whitening effects. Methods: The formulation was tested in vitro using human keratinocyte, fibroblast, and melano-cyte cultures, assessing cell proliferation, gene expression, and melanin production. Results: The results showed a significant increase in cell renewal, collagen and elastin synthesis, and upregulation of genes related to cellular longevity (FoxO3 and SIRT-1) and antioxidant de-fense (NRF-2), along with a reduction in melanin production. Conclusion: The study concludes that the combined use of these ingredients shows promise for anti-aging and skin-whitening applications. However, further in vivo studies are necessary to confirm these findings.
