Modal Analysis of all-Metal Waveguides with Glide-Symmetric Loading
We present modal dispersive analyses of an all-metal parallel-plate waveguide loaded with metallic pins arranged according to glide symmetries. Full-wave analysis are performed to analyze and validate the results, considering both phase and attenuation constants. Loaded metallic waveguides support the propagation of slow waves, thereby defining a background artificial dielectric. The introduction of periodic slots having arbitrary configurations in the top plate of the structure to control the level of the leakage attenuation constant is under investigation. This would lead to the design of a compact, all-metal, planar leaky-wave antenna radiating at broadside over a wide bandwidth.
