Harnessing N-nitroamines for direct deaminative coupling

A novel deaminative strategy for aryl amines via N -nitroamines intermediates has been successfully developed, which substitutes the traditional diazo chemistry and directly converts the aryl C-N bond into C–X (X = Br, Cl, I, F, N, S, Se, O) and C–C bonds. This method is characterized by its simplicity in operation, obviates the isolation of unstable intermediates, and applies to various aromatic amines and heteroaromatic amines. Moreover, it can be further combined with transition metal-catalyzed coupling reactions to achieve one-pot synthesis. A novel deaminative strategy via stable N -nitroamine intermediates replaces hazardous diazo chemistry, directly converting aryl C-N bonds into diverse C-X and C-C linkages. This operationally simple, broad-scope method avoids isolating unstable intermediates and is compatible with one-pot cross-coupling reactions.
