Alternaria Sensitization and Allergy in Children and Adolescents: A Retrospective Diagnostic Study
The Diagnosis of Alternaria allergy is still a challenge. The weak to moderate correlation between SPT-AA and AA-IgE seems to be allergen-specific. Typical medical history is a key diagnostic criterion. Allergy profiles and climate may play a role in the manifestation of symptoms. BP-AA help to establish threshold values for SPT-AA and AA-IgE. In unclear cases, nasal or bronchial provocation should be performed before immunotherapy.
