Non-Uniform Distribution Effects on Plasma-Based Metasurfaces
Gaseous Plasma Antennas are advanced devices that transmit electromagnetic signals using ionized gas, or plasma, rather than traditional metal structures. These antennas provide unique benefits, especially in terms of performance reconfigurability, setting them apart from conventional metallic designs. Here, we examine the effects of the non-uniform distribution of the plasma in the antenna tubes. Specifically, we assess variations in the reflection coefficient and phase for several example structures. Finally, we analyze how these non-negligible variations could impact the design of a plasma-based metasurface.
