Fabrication of an optoelectronic device based on tungsten dichloride dioxide/poly (1H-pyrrole) thin film porous nanocomposite
A novel optoelectronic nanocomposite composed of tungsten dichloride dioxide and poly(1H-pyrrole) (WO 2 Cl 2 /P1HP) was successfully developed for light detection applications for the first time. The nanocomposite was synthesized via a direct oxidative polymerization route of 1H-pyrrole, enabling efficient in situ polymerization and homogeneous incorporation of tungsten-based species within the polymeric framework. Structural analysis revealed that the WO 2 Cl 2 /P1HP nanocomposite exhibits a well-defined crystalline structure with an average crystallite size of approximately 20[Formula: see text]nm, accompanied by a highly porous surface morphology characterized by particle sizes around 25[Formula: see text]nm. This coexistence of nanoscale crystallinity and porosity facilitates enhanced photon absorption, multiple light scattering and efficient charge carrier transport across the nanocomposite matrix. Photoelectrical characterization demonstrates a photocurrent density ([Formula: see text]) of 0.2[Formula: see text]mA/cm 2 under white light illumination, confirming the material’s strong photoresponsive behavior. At wavelengths of 340 and 440[Formula: see text]nm, the photoresponsivity (R) reaches 1.4 and 1.35[Formula: see text]mA/W, respectively, while the corresponding detectivity (D) values are [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] Jones. These results identify WO 2 Cl 2 /P1HP as a promising candidate for next-generation photonic and optoelectronic devices.
