Benign Endobronchial Lipoma: A Rare Cause of Recurrent Pulmonary Infection and Bronchiectasis – A Case Report
Endobronchial lipoma is an extremely rare benign lung tumor.Patients with these tumors are often misdiagnosed to have bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and a delay in diagnosis is associated with complications secondary to endobronchial obstruction.Contrast-enhanced computed tomography scans usually diagnose endobronchial lesions with fat density.Bronchoscopy plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and therapeutic management of these tumors, where they can be removed using an electrocautery snare and argon plasma coagulation, thus obviating the need for surgical intervention.
