A review of pediatric cerebral hemiatrophy: a series of cases
Abstract Cerebral hemiatrophy represents a spectrum of neurological disorders marked by unilateral cerebral atrophy, often resulting in significant neurological and functional impairments. This case series focuses on three primary conditions associated with cerebral hemiatrophy: Rasmussen encephalitis, Sturge–Weber syndrome, and hemiconvulsion–hemiplegia–epilepsy syndrome. Through comprehensive imaging analyses, we explore the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and diagnostic imaging features of these disorders. By leveraging advanced imaging techniques, the study aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy and inform effective management strategies for affected patients.
