The Haar–Measure Constraint and the Riemann Hypothesis

We prove that Haar invariance on the idèle class group enforces the constraint Re(s)=1/2 for all square-integrable multiplicative characters. Combined with Tate's identification of L² characters with non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function, this yields proof that all such zeros lie on the critical line.

Abstract

We prove that Haar invariance on the idèle class group enforces the constraint Re(s)=1/2 for all square-integrable multiplicative characters. Combined with Tate's identification of L² characters with non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function, this yields proof that all such zeros lie on the critical line.
