From the Desk of President-Elect (2024-2025)

It is a privilege to address you as the president Elect of 2025, where I shall begin my tenure as President of the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (IAOMR) in 2026 with specific vision and goals. Since 1985, IAOMR has remained committed to strengthening education, clinical excellence, and scientific advancement in Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Radiology. As the healthcare landscape transforms through digital technologies, artificial intelligence, precision diagnostics, and interdisciplinary collaboration, our specialty must evolve with clarity and purpose. Our strength lies in our defined expertise—advanced imaging interpretation, oral mucosal disease management, salivary diagnostics and markers, temporomandibular disorder care, screening for head and neck malignancies, prevention, diagnosis, and management or oral potentially malignant diseases and collaborative diagnostic decision-making. Upholding excellence in these areas requires updated training frameworks, evidence-based practice, and a collective commitment to standards that reflect modern healthcare expectations. Meaningful academic progress must translate into improved patient care. Research, innovation, and clinical relevance must guide our direction—not trends or fragmented expansion. Our goal is mastery, not dilution of identity. As we move forward, the growth of our journal will play a central role in shaping the scientific voice of our specialty. I invite all researchers, clinicians, postgraduate students, and academicians of IAOMR to contribute high-quality original research, systematic reviews, clinical studies, and innovation-driven manuscripts. Strengthening scientific visibility through citations, impactful publications, and ethical scholarship will advance our journal’s indexing, credibility, and global reach. Together, let us build a future that honors our legacy, while positioning IAOMR at the forefront of dentistry. Thank you.

Abstract

It is a privilege to address you as the president Elect of 2025, where I shall begin my tenure as President of the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (IAOMR) in 2026 with specific vision and goals. Since 1985, IAOMR has remained committed to strengthening education, clinical excellence, and scientific advancement in Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Radiology.
