Comprehensive Review On Yttrium Zirconium Phosphor: Synthesis, Luminescence Properties And Applications
The structural stability, changeable optical behavior, and various applications of phosphors based on yttrium zirconium, particularly yttrium-stabilized zirconia (YSZ), have attracted a significant amount of attention in the fields of photonics, display technologies, and sensing. The production of YSZ and other yttrium-zirconium phosphors that are comparable has been accomplished by the use of a number of different synthesis methods. These methods include solid-state processes, sol-gel procedures, combustion synthesis, and spark plasma sintering (SPS). The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive review of their respective strategies. An emphasis is placed on the processing parameters, annealing conditions, oxygen vacancy production, and the influence of dopants such as rare-earth ions (such as Eu3+, Dy3+, and Er3+) on luminous characteristics. The optical and photoluminescence spectra of these materials are examined in terms of excitation processes, emission centers, and decay kinetics. Particular attention is paid to the interplay between transitions created by dopants and emissions that are caused by intrinsic defects. In addition, the potential applications and applications in lasers, bio-imaging, lighting, and optoelectronic devices are evaluated. In this review, the current status of research on yttrium zirconium phosphors as multifunctional luminous materials is presented. Additionally, the paper addresses the challenges, accomplishments, and probable future prospects for this area of study.
