Association of the -4719A/T Polymorphism in the RAD51 Gene with Demographic and Clinicopathological Features of Lung Cancer in Iraqi Patients
This study is among the first to investigate the -4719A/T (rs2619679) polymorphism in the RAD51 gene and its association with lung cancer in the Iraqi population. A statistically significant association was identified between this variant and lung cancer risk. The genotypic patterns identified suggest that the presence of the T allele particularly in the more frequently occurring heterozygous AT genotype may contribute to the molecular mechanisms involved in lung cancer development through its impact on DNA repair processes.
