Solvothermal Template‐Induced Hierarchical Porosity in Covalent Organic Frameworks: A Pathway to Enhanced Diffusivity (Adv. Mater. 52/2025)

Covalent Organic Frameworks In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202415882), Fabian Heck, Lars Grunenberg, Liang Yao, Bettina V. Lotsch, and co-workers developed a new template-induced synthetic methodology to realize hierarchically porous COFs (hCOFs) via commercially available zinc oxide nanoparticles as hard template. The introduction of the secondary porosity in the hCOF significantly reduces diffusion limitations, thus leading to simultaneous enhancements in adsorption capacity, diffusivity, and catalytic performance.
