To What Extent can Nano-Materials and Bio-Stimulants Enhance Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) Growth and Soil Health under Saline Stress
This study aimed at investigate the effects of nano K-humate and nano K -silicate, both individually and in combination with the bio-stimulant amino acids and or yeast, on the growth, nutrient content and some biochemical compounds of peanut plant (Arachis hypogaea) grown in a calcareous salt-affected soil. The experimental design was a randomized complete block involving nine treatments, each treatment was replicated three times. Results showed that spraying peanut plants with the nano K- humate or the nano K- silicate was of significant effects on its all-growth parameters beside of its content of the macro and micro nutritive elements. Chlorophyll A, chlorophyll B and carotenoids in leaves as well as protein ,carbohydrate and oil in seeds were also significantly affected due to the application of these amending nano -materials. However, the co-application of either of these materials with the bio stimulants exerted higher significant effects on the aforementioned variables. Leaf and seed nutrient contents (N, P, K, Fe, Mn, Zn) also increased significantly, with the highest values being achieved due to application of the nano K silicate + the amino acids + yeast treatment. Soil properties improved, where the electrical conductivity (EC) decreased whereas organic matter (OM) and nutrient availability increased. This demonstrate that the combined use of nanomaterials and bio-stimulants could enhance peanut growth, productivity, and soil health .
