A qualitative research design was employed, incorporating community-related documents, photographs, aerial imagery, and physical surveys. Additional data were collected through in-depth interviews and perception mapping with long-term community residents who have lived in the area for more than half of their lives. The data were analyzed using content analysis, and the findings are presented descriptively. The study reveals that most residents perceive community boundaries through tangible elements such as social acquaintances, bridges, and administrative demarcations, along with intangible factors such as familiarity with the area and daily routines. These emotionally based perceptions often do not align with the official boundaries set by the state. A key physical change—the construction of new roads and alleys leading into the floating market—has created additional entry and exit points, thereby reducing the area available for everyday community life. This transformation affects residents’ sense of place, particularly in the dimension of place identity, leading to a perception of a diminished community scope and fewer opportunities for social interaction with familiar acquaintances due to reduced communal public spaces, such as the shrinking sidewalks in front of rowhouses. In terms of emotional attachment, the establishment of King Rama II Memorial Park, with its historical narratives and activities, has contributed to a growing sense of place attachment centered around this newly developed tourist site.)
