Complete Genome Sequence of Cutibacterium acnes EISK7 Isolated from Healthy Korean Facial Skin

Cutibacterium acnes is a Gram-positive bacterium that exhibits dual characteristics on human skin, functioning both as a potential pathogen and as a contributor to skin microbiome balance [1].C. acnes is classified into various types through Single-Locus Sequence typing (SLST), with each type potentially contributing differently to skin health [1].This study focused on an F type strain of C. acnes (EISK7) isolated from healthy facial skin. This type has been less extensively studied compared to other types, and this research aims to expand understanding of its genetic characteristics and its potential role in skin health. In this study, strain EISK7 was isolated from the facial skin of healthy Korean adult using the same methods as those described in previous study [1].The pure culture strain was incubated for 72 h at 37 in an anaerobic chamber (Coy Laboratory Products, USA), and genomic DNA was extracted using the Wizard Genomic DNA Purification kit (Promega, USA).DNA This study investigated the genomic characteristics of Cutibacterium acnes strain EISK7, which isolated from the facial skin of healthy South Korean. The genome is composed of a single chromosome measuring 2,494,909 bp in length.Using genomic and pangenomic analyses, EISK7 was identified as Single-Locus Sequence Type F1.Our investigations expand the understanding of the unique genetic traits of Type F C. acnes and their potential role in both skin health and antibiotic resistance.
