Normal-Tension Glaucoma at Age 18 Followed by Psoriasis: A 26-Year Self-Case Report Suggesting TNF-α-Mediated Systemic Inflammation
Normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) progresses despite normal intraocular pressure, suggesting IOP-independent pathogenic mechanisms. This paper presents a 26-year self-case report of NTG with concurrent psoriasis—both known TNF-α-mediated conditions—and proposes that systemic TNF-α dysregulation may serve as a shared pathogenic link. The case demonstrates extreme IOP-independent progression despite optimal pressure control, raising the possibility of anti-inflammatory therapeutic approaches for select NTG patients with systemic inflammatory comorbidities.
