Whole Genome Sequence of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum HJ4, a Strain with Functional Potential for Skin Health

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum strain HJ4 was isolated from the facial skin of a healthy Korean adult and subjected to whole-genome sequencing. The assembled genome was 3,368,865 bp, and comparative ANI analysis revealed high similarity to closely related Lactobacillus species.Functional annotation identified four virulence-associated genes and one antimicrobial resistance gene.COG classification showed enrichment in categories related to transcription, carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism, and cell wall biogenesis, suggesting that HJ4 is well adapted to the skin environment and may contribute to skin health through nutrient utilization, pathogen inhibition, and barrier support.
