Digital Financial Inclusion and Economic Participation in Yobe State of Nigeria: A Study of Mobile Banking Adoption

This study examines the relationship between digital financial inclusion and economic participation in Yobe State, Nigeria, with a focus on mobile banking adoption. As a largely agrarian and conflict-affected region, Yobe State presents unique challenges and opportunities for financial inclusion through technology. Using primary data collected from 384 respondents across Damaturu, Potiskum, and Geidam, the study employed descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression to analyze the factors influencing mobile banking adoption. Results indicate that access to mobile phones, education level, trust in financial institutions, and perceived ease of use significantly influence adoption. Furthermore, mobile banking positively correlates with increased savings, business transactions, and access to credit. The study concludes that mobile banking can serve as a powerful tool for inclusive economic growth if supported by targeted policies and infrastructure investments.
