The Time-Scalar Origin of Solar Coronal Heating
The solar coronal heating paradox involves the corona reaching temperatures of 1–3 MK while the photosphere remains at ≈5800 K. Classical magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mechanisms, such as Alfv´en wave dissipation and nanoflares, fail to quantitatively account for this inversion. We introduce Time-Scalar Field Theory (TSFT), where a scalar-time gradient ∇ΘΦ provides an additional energy transfer term neglected in MHD, predicting exponential amplification in regions of high temporal curvature. This mechanism aligns with empirical data from missions like Parker Solar Probe, SDO/AIA, and Hinode/EIS, yielding a Pearson correlation of -0.974 (p = 0.001) between predicted and observed electron temperatures.
