Racial disparities in autoimmune blistering diseases: a retrospective study of Black and White patients

This retrospective study examined racial differences in disease severity, treatment and healthcare utilization among patients with autoimmune blistering diseases (AIBDs) at a tertiary care centre. Black patients had significantly higher rates of emergency department visits, hospitalizations and comorbidity burden compared with White patients, despite similar disease severity at presentation. These findings highlight the need for more equitable care in AIBD management.
