The Relationship Between Humor Based Coping and Work–Life Balance: The Mediator Effect of Perceived Supervisor Support
The increase in productivity in enterprises is not only related to production processes but also to the psychology of employees. The ability of employees to establish a work-life balance directly affects their well-being. In a business where the majority of employees feel good, the organizational climate turns positive and this contributes to the increase in productivity. In this context, the aim of this study is to reveal the effects of humor based coping attitudes and perceived supervisor support on employees' establishing a work-life balance. To explore this relevance data were collected from Nilüfer Organized Industrial Zone where approximately five thousand white-collar employees operate in 360 businesses. Data obtained from 409 participants were analyzed by establishing a structural equation model and results were reached. As a result of the study, it was revealed that both humor based coping attitude and perceived supervisor support were effective in establishing work-life balance.
