The formation of the role of a father in addressing crisis situations with children as one of the forms of readjustment for military personnel with experience in combat operations

The subject of the study is the formation of a positive and stable paternal role among military personnel returning from combat zones as a significant resource for their social and psychological readjustment. The article analyzes the behavior of servicemen in the family after experiencing combat, revealing the influence of emotional regulation, social support, and family dynamics on their ability to engage constructively with children. It is shown that the paternal role not only serves as an element of family structure but also as an important mechanism for restoring personal stability, self-efficacy, and emotional resilience in military personnel. Special attention is given to educational practices, joint activities, and the formation of trusting relationships between parent and child, which help reduce tension and strengthen family relationships. The methodological foundation includes analyzing scientific sources on family psychology and readjustment, a comparative analysis of parenting behavior models, systematization of data on the factors of maladjustment in military personnel, and a summarization of contemporary approaches to supporting families experiencing crisis periods after a parent's involvement in combat. The scientific novelty of the research lies in justifying the paternal role as a key factor in the readjustment of military personnel, determining the restoration of emotional stability, quality of intra-family relationships, and subjective feelings of psychological safety. The mechanisms of how participation in raising children affects behavior regulation, processing combat experience, restoring positive self-identification, and strengthening the social inclusion of military personnel within family and social networks are clarified. It is shown that joint activities with children, the development of emotional contact, the use of supportive communication forms, and the formation of flexible parenting models help reduce tension levels, enhance resilience to crisis situations, and create conditions for harmonious interaction within the family. The recommendations proposed can be used in the work of psychologists, social services, rehabilitation centers, and educational organizations supporting the families of military personnel, as well as serve as a foundation for the development of targeted programs for supporting fatherhood.
