Case of posterior atlantoaxial dislocation with backward displacement of type II odontoid fracture
Here, a 72-year-old male with underlying CSM presented with the acute onset of quadriparesis following a fall. Having sustained backward displacement/ptosis secondary to posterior AAD from the hyperextension injury, the patient successfully underwent a combined closed/open reduction of the displacement combined with subaxial decompression and long segment fixation.
