The Hypergenre "Congratulations" in Epistolary Communication (Based on the Texts of Greeting Cards Addressed to Academician V.G. Kostomarov)

The hypergenre of "congratulations" in epistolary communication (personal and friendly correspondence) is examined diachronically, using texts from greeting cards from the Soviet era (1960–1991) addressed to Academician V.G. Kostomarov. The study is conducted within the anthropocentric paradigm, taking into account the communicative-pragmatic approach to the study of linguistic phenomena, which focuses on the individual in their relationship to the communication process. The interaction of units of different semiotic systems and subgenres within the structure of the hypergenre "congratulations" is demonstrated, reflecting such constitutive features as hybridity and polycode. The speech realizations of the authors of congratulatory texts in the compositional parts "address," "congratulations," "wish," and "signature" are described.
