Supporting Students' Academic Literacy Development in <scp>EMI</scp> : A Reader's Response

ABSTRACT In this response to McKinley (2025), I argue in favor of a reframing of students' preparedness for studying in EMI contexts as academic literacy‐related rather than solely related to Englisha language proficiency. Adding to McKinley's conceptual piece and drawing on my own work, I provide one example of the collaborative, discipline‐specific pedagogical approach advocated by McKinley.
