From Boundary Stop-Tokens to Boundary Conditions: Distinction, Stabilization, and Recurrence in Dialogue with the Theory of Objectivity

This article develops a structured dialogue between the architectural methodology proposed in The Error of the Boundary and the axiomatic framework of the Theory of Objectivity (TO). It argues that a pervasive category error in foundational science arises when methodological limits—of description, measurement, or formalization—are mistaken for ontological limits. By distinguishing boundary-conditions from boundary stop-tokens, the article shows how TO’s axioms A4–A7 provide a rigorous vocabulary for understanding distinction, stabilization, and recurrence as generative rather than terminative operations. The architectural framework of genesis → stabilization → recurrence is mapped onto TO’s modal requirements, demonstrating their deep compatibility. Points of productive tension between the programs are identified, and shared criteria of rigor are formulated to prevent premature conclusions in foundational inquiry.
