A dataset of mangrove forests distribution in the Leizhou Peninsula (2019–2023)
<p indent="0mm">In this study, to address the lack of publicly available data on mangrove forests distribution in the Leizhou Peninsula, Sentinel-2 satellite cloud-free images acquired in 2019, 2021 and 2023 were used as the data source, through the super-resolution reconstruction, coastal buffer zone extraction, object-based classification using a random forest algorithm, and optimization of classification results, a dataset of mangrove forests distribution in the Leizhou Peninsula from 2019 to 2023 was successfully constructed. The average overall accuracy of this dataset reached 95.3%. The high-accuracyt mangrove forests distribution dataset constructed in this study is expected to provide strong data support for the follow-up mangrove resource monitoring, wetland ecological environmental protection, and coastal territorial spatial planning, as well as other related application in the Leizhou Peninsula.
