Elevated cerebral pulsatility is associated with cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers of neurodegeneration in cognitively unimpaired adults
Overall, elevated cerebral PI, measured with 4D flow MRI, was associated with CSF biomarkers of neurodegeneration and synaptic dysfunction in cognitively unimpaired middle-aged and older adults. As such, cerebral pulsatility may represent an early biomarker for AD risk and interventions that target cerebral pulsatility may mitigate neurodegeneration.
