KAPADOKYA BÖLGESİNDEKİ TURİST HAREKETLİLİĞİNİN MEVSİMSEL OLARAK DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ: ZİYARETÇİ YOĞUNLUĞUNUN DÖNEMSEL ANALİZİ (SEASONAL ASSESSMENT OF TOURIST MOBILITY IN CAPPADOCIA REGION: A PERIODIC ANALYSIS OF VISITOR DENSITY)

Tourism mobility is a vital tourism variable that includes travel to a specific tourist destination and needs to be analyzed.Analyzing this mobility can effectively reveal the current situation regarding tourism and help in future planning.Additionally, evaluating tourist mobility to a destination involves more than counting the number of visitors. This study aimed to analyze seasonal tourism mobility to the Cappadocia region. To achieve this, the seasonality of tourism mobility in the Cappadocia region was examined using two types of data: visitor statistics for museums and historical sites, and accommodation facility data in Nevehir. The statistics recorded by official institutions were analyzed as secondary data from 2020 to 2024.The study's results revealed notable differences between the number of visitors to museums and historical sites and those visiting accommodation facilities.Additionally, it identified variations in the length of stay between domestic and foreign tourists.Weather conditions significantly influence tourism in the Cappadocia region, and the length of stay for local and foreign tourists tends to vary periodically.Suggestions have been proposed to address the effects of seasonality in the Cappadocia region.
