Identifying Alzheimer's Disease by combining plasma biomarkers and cross‐cultural cognitive tests in an ethnically diverse mixed memory clinic cohort
We found that supplementing plasma p-tau217 to the RUDAS and MCE significantly improved the diagnostic accuracy of clinical AD in an ethnically diverse mixed memory clinic cohort. These results support the use of culturally appropriate cognitive tests when assessing patients with minority ethnic backgrounds. Furthermore, it promotes combining the cognitive tests with novel plasma biomarkers to aid the diagnosis of AD. Future research should continue to explore other novel blood-based biomarkers within groups with known barriers in their diagnostic evaluations such as ethnic minorities.
