Magnetic Unclonable Functions Leveraging Remanence and Anhysteretic States (Adv. Funct. Mater. 52/2025)

Magnetic Microstructures In their Research Article (10.1002/adfm.202516376), Alessandro Magni, Gabriele Barrera, Sara Nocentini, and co-workers show that magnetic unclonable function leverages remanence and anhysteretic states for dual-mode operation within a 2D microdot array, switching between reproducible and reconfigurable responses. This multi-level, deterministic, and reconfigurable hybrid cryptographic hardware generates stable, highly-entropic keys over 400 bits decodable via magneto-optic techniques. This strengthens PUF security and adaptability across diverse applications.
