Narrative Sense-Making in the Age of Data: The Fragility of Certainty
This manuscript presents a systematic interdisciplinary review examining how narrative frameworks shape sense-making, engagement, and persuasion in data-rich contexts. Drawing on peer-reviewed studies across psychology, communication, journalism, and organizational research, the review synthesizes evidence on the cognitive benefits and ethical risks of narrative-based data communication. The study follows PRISMA 2020 guidelines and highlights narratives as indispensable yet fragile tools for understanding uncertainty in the age of data.
