It discusses the evolution and contribution of the Madrasah system, particularly in the Nuh district of Haryana, in bringing the Muslim children to the mainstream national system of education. The article aims to understand the role of Madrasas and Maktabs in imparting education in the Nuh District of Haryana and their impact on employment and development. Based on the survey conducted in some of the Madrasas, the paper highlights their functioning as well as the problems being faced by both the students and the administration. It also indicates aversion of Madrasas to the introduction of modern secular education, as they feel it is an unnecessary burden on them.
