Biomarkers in psoriasis: recent advances and clinical implications

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by excessive keratinocyte proliferation and immune dysregulation.Advances in omics technologies have identified numerous biomarkers that provide insight into its complex pathogenesis and therapeutic response.Genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analyses have revealed disease-specific molecular signatures involving Th17 and Th1 pathways. These biomarkers have shown potential clinical utility in differentiating psoriasis from other inflammatory dermatoses, assessing disease severity, predicting treatment responses, and identifying patients at risk of comorbidities.Integrating such biomarker information with clinical information may facilitate precision medicine approaches and personalized management strategies for psoriasis.
