Emerging Frontiers of Behavioral Finance: A bibliometric analysis of technology integration
In the context of behavioral finance, this bibliographic analysis examines the evolving landscape of behavioral biases, which refers to systematic patterns of deviation from normatively rational judgement or decision making, often influenced by psychology, emotional, or cognitive factors. This study seeks to clarify the patterns by critically analyzing the key literature and academic contributions, encompassing 405 publications. Utilizing bibliometric tools such as VOSviewer and Biblioshiny, this study maps the intellectual structure of behavioral bias research, highlighting key trends, influential publications, and emerging thematic clusters based on Scopus-indexed publications from 2002 to 2024. The study also elucidates the breadth of behavioral biases explored across the literature and distills their key empirical insights. Notably, it reveals a shift in the research focus—from an initial emphasis on individual cognitive processes to a growing interest in the technological influences on decision-making. These findings offer a nuanced understanding of the field’s evolution and highlight fertile ground for future interdisciplinary inquiry.
