Abstract: In "Je n'ai pas oublié mon premier 5 juillet", Wassyla Tamzali employs the form of euchronia to revisit Algerian memory at the intersection of the personal and the collective. Imagining an Algeria where the ideals of 1954–democracy, civilian rule, and gender equality–had been fulfilled, the author reflects on the unrealized course of history. The family house becomes a symbol of both irretrievable loss and enduring hope. Through a writing that blends fiction, memory, and political reflection, Tamzali turns euchronia into a space for meditating on loss, time, and the unfinished revolutionary utopia.
