How useful is human intelligence for evaluating artificial intelligence?
This paper questions the adequacy of using human intelligence as the benchmark for evaluating artificial intelligence. It critiques instrumentalist and mentalistic approaches, highlighting conceptual biases that arise when human cognition is treated as the standard of comparison. It argues that recognizing non-human forms of intelligence can lead to a more inclusive and philosophically robust understanding of intelligence itself.
