Constrained Packing Dynamics (CPD) in Supersonic Flows and Supersonic Turbulence
We extend the Constrained Packing Dynamics (CPD) framework to supersonicfluid regimes, analyzing the origin, suppression, and excitation of turbulence underextreme compressibility. By mapping the CPD triad—Flux (Q), Curvature(C), and Packing (P)—onto high-Mach flows, we identify how shocks and compressibilityact as effective energy sinks, locally suppressing turbulence, while specificgeometries and flow instabilities allow supersonic turbulence to emerge. Thisapproach provides a predictive, physically grounded understanding of turbulencebeyond classical Reynolds-number-based descriptions.
