Dynamic displacement analysis of transformer windings based on a mass-spring-damper model in polar coordinates
As the key equipment of power grids, the operational reliability of transformers is critically important. Accurately calculating and evaluating the mechanical behaviour of windings under short-circuit impact holds significant engineering value for transformer design and condition assessment. In this study, a mass-spring-damper (MSD) model established in polar coordinates is proposed, which could efficiently compute the radial mechanical response of power transformer windings subjected to short-circuit forces. The computational results based on the MSD model are compared with those obtained from commercial structural mechanics finite element analysis software simulations to validate its accuracy.
