Research on bone quality detection method based on electromagnetic coupling resonant frequency measurement
Osteoporosis has emerged as a significant health challenge for the elderly population in China. Existing bone assessment techniques such as DXA and QCT are limited in clinical reach due to their high costs and operational complexity. This study proposes a novel electric field-excited resonant non-contact bone measurement approach, which evaluates bone mineral density (BMD) by leveraging the influence of bone electrical properties on resonant frequency. A resonant circuit model was developed to analyze frequency response characteristics. Experimental results demonstrate a significant negative correlation between BMD and resonant frequency (Pearson correlation coefficient: 0.86627), validating the promising potential of this method for osteoporosis screening.
