Communication Economics and the CENI Framework™
This research thesis introduces Communication Economics as a proposed interdisciplinary field examining the structural relationship between communication systems and economic performance. It presents the CENI Framework™ (Communication–Economy Nexus Integrative Framework), a conceptual and analytical model linking five core communication variables—Clarity, Credibility, Consistency, Coverage, and Conscience—to outcomes such as trust, stability, resilience, innovation adoption, and long-term economic trajectories. The work adopts a global, systems-level perspective, analysing how meaning-making, narrative coherence, and institutional communication shape economic behaviour at the national scale. Drawing on historical patterns, cross-regional observations, and behavioural-economic reasoning, the thesis positions communication as a foundational economic variable rather than a secondary or cultural factor. In addition to conceptual development, the thesis outlines predictive pathways, quantitative extensions, and future research directions, including potential applications of AI-assisted communication analysis. The work is intended for scholars, policymakers, and researchers interested in macroeconomic systems, political economy, communication studies, and interdisciplinary approaches to economic analysis.
