The complete chloroplast genome of an ornamental plant Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Tetragona’
Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Tetragona', a striking ornamental tree native to Japan, has been introduced into China for horticultural cultivation. This study presents the complete chloroplast genome of C. obtusa 'Tetragona'. With a total length of 127,429 bp, the complete chloroplast genome has an overall GC content of 35%. A total of 120 functional genes were annotated, including 83 unique protein-coding genes, 33 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. The phylogenetic analysis reveals a sister relationship between C. obtusa 'Tetragona' and Chamaecyparis obtusa var. obtusa.
