Association between Accelerometry and Incident Dementia in the National Healthy Aging Trends Study (NHATS)

Wrist-worn accelerometry is feasible, and physical activity is found to be significantly associated with lower risk dementia in the NHATS. These accelerometry findings add to the evidence that physical activity may reduce cognitive impairment and dementia risk.
