First person – Kaneez Fatima

ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Journal of Cell Science, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Kaneez Fatima is first author on ‘ Ribosome-binding protein 1 maintains peroxisomal biogenesis’, published in JCS. Kaneez is a PhD researcher in the lab of Svetlana Konovalova at Institute of Biotechnology, Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE), University of Helsinki, Finland, investigating how RRBP1 contributes to building and maintaining peroxisomes, which are essential for healthy cell metabolism.
