Recent Advances in Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydroarylation of Disubstituted Alkenes

Abstract Transition-metal-catalyzed hydroarylation of olefins has emerged as an efficient and straightforward strategy for the synthesis of alkylated aromatic compounds, complementing classical electrophilic substitution reactions. Its enantioselective variants, in particular, offer an economical route in terms of both atoms and steps to complex chiral molecules. Although significant progress has been made in enantioselective hydroarylation of monosubstituted alkenes, its application to disubstituted alkenes is still in its early stages. This short review highlights recent advances in the enantioselective hydroarylation of disubstituted alkenes using transition metals as catalysts.
