Dataset of PM₂.₅, PM10, NO₂, SO₂ and O₃ concentrations in the South Tamaulipas conurbation zone, Mexico from October 2023 to June 2025

The Conurbation Zone encompassing the municipalities of Tampico, Ciudad Madero, and Altamira, located in southeastern Tamaulipas in northeastern Mexico, is an area characterized by diverse activities including industrial, port, commercial, residential, tourism, and rural sectors, all contributing to atmospheric pollution. This dataset contains daily concentrations of five criteria air pollutants (PM₂.₅, PM10, NO₂, SO₂ and O₃) recorded between October 2023 and June 2025 from four air quality monitoring stations positioned within the study area. Data collection was performed using calibrated sensors following Mexican environmental regulation NOM-172-SEMARNAT-2023 protocols, which define averaging periods and data validation criteria. The dataset provides continuous time series of pollutant concentrations that can be used to assess air quality trends, support environmental modeling, or perform public health studies. Its potential applications include benchmarking pollution episodes, developing predictive models, and aiding environmental management in regions impacted by industrial activity.
