The genome sequence of Stylops aterrimus Newport, 1851 (Strepsiptera: Stylopidae)

<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual neotenic female of <ns3:italic>Stylops aterrimus</ns3:italic> (Arthropoda; Insecta; Strepsiptera; Stylopidae). This assembly represents one haplotype of a hexaploid genome. The genome sequence has a total length of 85.41 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.99%) is scaffolded into 8 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 24.66 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
